Save the Children’s work is vast and endless they work with 1in 4 children whom live in poverty in Wales, providing them a better future, easier access to the health and education system. In South Africa they work with the 2.5 million orphans, half of whom lost their parents to HIV, providing them with a self sufficient food supply, water, cooking amenities and education among a few amenities. This work is only the tip of the iceberg, there are so many children, countries, projects that have benefited and still continue to need funding to succeed and you can contribute to that.

Paddle for Life is your chance to have fun while raising money and making a difference to children’s lives in your neighbouring communities and worldwide. The event will consist of rafting, surfing, kayaking, lifesaving and beach events offering everyone the opportunity to get involved!

As a privileged minority we have the opportunity to have fun, get in the water, get active and make a huge difference to children’s lives both here in Wales and across the Globe. Simply by getting on a surf board or making a raft we can make that difference. Our challenge is to give children a better life.

This event is one you will want to pencil in your calendar, you do not want to miss the excitement, variety and opportunities both Paddle for Life and Porthcawl has to offer, join now, make a difference, have fun and save lives!

Witsieshoek School in Qwa Qwa

Many children drop out of schooling before they complete their education this can be due to:

  • Having to go to work to earn for the family
  • Becoming a carer for other children
  • Having to care for parents with HIV/AIDS

Save the Children are supporting the scheme of guaranteeing every child a school uniform

It costs just £18 to buy a child a school uniform, 200 children have received a uniform showing them that they have support and are not alone! Its more than a uniform, it allows the child to go to school feeling like an equal to their peers! Uniforms Give the Child Identity, equality, esteem and pride, a sence of belonging

There are 2.5million identified orphans in South Africa, half of these lost their parent to AIDS. Many of whom become carers for their younger siblings! One third of children do not have enough to eat, while one in five children are unable to go to school! 1 in 5 children will die before their 5th Birthday of mainly curable conditions

With your help WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
