Paddle for Life is a charitable event, organised to raise awareness and funds for Save the Children whom work for under privileged children both here in the UK and oversees.
Raft Race Event
The raft race consists of a team pre-constructing a sturdy, stealthy, sea going raft that will hold 4-10 members. On the day the crew members will paddle their raft around a course against similar vessels, the first to complete the course and over the finish line in a safe manner with their raft still in tacked will be crowned the Paddle for Life 2011 champions.
This will take all your skills of ingenuity, strength, agility, stamina and cunning to design the strongest yet quickest raft, to compete with similar sea farers.
There are a series of categories, therefore if speed is not on your side, do not fear you may still be a winner in other areas, including best designed vessel, best dressed crew and highest funds raised! All are welcomed so hop on board.

Paddle Board Competition
This is as simple as it sound, a surf board paddle competition set around an official course to see who the strongest, fastest paddler of you all is! Entrants can use surf life saving boards, knee boards, any suitable paddle board.
Paddle for fun, or paddle for pride while you do so you will be raising needed monies for Save the Children, your £10 entry fee can supply food and blanket to children in hardship, or 2 mosquito blankets – aiding in the prevention of the spread of HIV.
As long as you can swim and are physically able to take the challenge you are ready to paddle for life. Each contestant will start the race at the elected point and continue around an official designated course, the first one home will be the illustrious winner of the 2011 surf paddle board race and take home the eminent trophy. Fancy dress is welcome and there will be numerous categories of winners.

Kayak Paddling Competition
For fun or competition this will appeal to all kayakers, this event consist of entrants paddling around a sea based outlined course, the first to the finish in the safest yet most courteous manner will be crowned Paddle for Life 2011 Kayaker.
Entrants can use sit on top kayaks, sea kayaks, recreational kayaks, surf kayaks, wave skis, canoes, and open canoes.
Can your strengths, stamina and technique win you this yea’s trophy? There are a series of categories, therefore if speed is not on your side, do not fear you may still be a winner on other areas, including best dressed kayak and Paddler and highest funds raised.
While you paddle for fun or the trophy, you will also be paddling for life; the proceeds raised will go to Save the Children, whom work to better children’s futures all over the world, including right here in Wales, working with underprivileged children providing them with the necessities that will enable them to create a better future for themselves, and support them with better access to our national services.

Surf Life Saving Association Competition
Details of the event will be finalised in due course, please check the Surf Life Saving Association Calendar for further details. Proceeds from this event will go to Save the Children, and will help other less privilege children the chance of a better future, more nutrition, access to education and the health care system.
Beach Events
Paddle for Life has something to offer everyone, if you do not fancy getting your feet wet then join in with our beach events. We will have BBQ, Volley Ball Competition, Beach Cricket, Children’s Fancy Dress Parade, Sand Castle Competition among a few. Therefore if you are entering into one of our races bring your family and friends along to join in the fun!

HOW DOES IT WORK
The Raft Race will consist of entrants pre constructing a sturdy stealthy, raft capable of holding between 4-10members, entrants must paddle their raft around the designated course in the fastest possible time, the first over the finish line will be crowned Paddle for Life 2011 champions.
Save the Children work with the 1 in 3 children living in poverty here in the U.K., that's over 3million children. For every pound given 83p goes directly to benefit the children, while the remainder 17p is used to raise further monies for the charity.
